Golden Belt Bank was chartered on January 26, 1920 by the J.W. Nicholson Family. In 1972, a group of investors from Hays purchased the ownership of the association and opened a branch office in Hays and another office in Hill City in 1974. After several years of operation, Golden Belt Bank built a new building for their Ellis location in 1981 and Hays in 1983.

In 2006, the Hays branch completed a renovation project that doubled the square footage to include additional space to offer outstanding customer service, timely responses to your questions, and a warm and friendly atmosphere with people who want to help you.

We feel very strongly about being responsive to our customer's needs and requests. In that regard, it is important to note that all decisions are made right here in Ellis County. We do not have to go out of county or out of state to answer your questions or make decisions. That will happen right here, right now.
