INSURED DEPOSITS ARE SAFE AT GOLDEN BELT BANK

Golden Belt Bank is participating in the FDIC's Transaction Account Guarantee Program.  Under that program, through December 31, 2010, all non interest-bearing transaction accounts are fully guaranteed by the FDIC for the entire amount in the account.  Coverage under the Transaction Account Guarantee Program is in addition to and separate from the coverage available under the FDIC's general deposit insurance.

Golden Belt Bank wants to remind community banking customers that their insured deposits are safe and backed by the full faith and credit of the federal government through the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).

The FDIC standard deposit insurance amount of $250,000 per depositor is in effect through December 31, 2013. On January 1, 2014, the standard insurance amount will return to $100,000 per depositor for all account categories except IRAs and other certain retirement accounts, which will remain at $250,000 per depositor.

The FDIC insures deposits and protects depositors' funds in banks and savings associations. FDIC deposit insurance covers each depositor's account, dollar-for-dollar, up to the insurance limit, including principal and any accrued interest.

According to the FDIC, insurance covers all types of deposits received by a financial institution in its usual course of business, including savings and checking accounts, NOW accounts, Christmas club accounts, and time deposits like certificates of deposit.  Cashiers' checks, officers' checks, expense checks, loan disbursement checks, interest checks, outstanding drafts, negotiable instruments and money orders drawn on the institution are also considered deposits, and are protected by the FDIC.
